When we were asked to choose a manufacturing process to thoroughly explore, I chose woodturning and spent a month falling happily in love with it.
After warming to the process, I took interest in making objects with different interior/exterior profiles.
In my third run of "production", I discovered new potentials for exploring my shape-within-a-shape interest [using color and/or negative space]. I also became interested in creating a "pixelly" interaction between different colored layers.
This fourth and final "family" incorporated all my interests: varying interior/exterior profiles, interesecting shapes, "pixellation", and layering of color.
